Tech Trends in 2021: Fast Planes And Homeworking

June 28, 2021

Technology has been advancing at an alarming rate for several years now. But like the gift that keeps on giving, the tech industry promised to bring more innovation and advancements in 2021. Here are three tech trends to watch out for:

1. Aerospace

Tech companies in the aerospace sector have not been idle. The race to devise environmentally-friendly air travel solutions has led to the rise of hydrogen-powered aircraft. In September 2020, Airbus, an aerospace company, disclosed three concept hydrogen-powered designs and is striving to make hydrogen-powered aircraft the primary mode of air transport while replacing current planes that run on traditional fuel. Moreover, you can now also find multiple altitude drones that run on clean energy. In 2021, you should also watch out for Rolls-Royce, an automobile company investing in the development of electric aircraft that can speed over 300 mph (482 km/h).

2. Remote Working

Many believe work from home is here to stay. Even after the COVID-19 pandemic subsides, there is a high chance that several companies will continue to have their employees telecommute. In fact, companies around the world expect no less than 25% of their workers to keep working remotely, either part-time or full-time. This will thus open up a large market for IT support and software solutions to address some of the remote working challenges such as security issues.

3. Autonomous Vehicles

Currently, there are over 300 autonomous vehicles from Phoenix that are in operation. There are also driverless taxis actively serving customers in Shanghai. The autonomous revolution is well underway with tests to improve how these vehicles operate in different topographical environments. Even Amazon has joined the race with its attempt to develop robotic food delivery and autonomous taxis.

Sweet Tips from Ally:

The future looks bright for the tech industry. With leaps in robotics, automation, and self-driving cars, consumers and businesses can look forward to exciting products and services. Along with the shift in professional work environments, it will be interesting to see how technology will further evolve to meet the changing needs of remote workers and students. Make sure to stay updated so you don’t fall behind!
